Solar powered radios bring knowledge of eternal life!

How can a radio change a life?  One man in Mirebalais asked Nikki Saint-Eloi, 4VEN's station manager, for a solar powered radio that is pre-tuned to our Christian station along with the New Testament in Creole. Nikki found one for him and gave it to him.
A few weeks later, the man saw Nikki and told him thank you. After listening to the radio and the New Testament, he came to understand that Jesus died to take the punishment of his sins.  He had placed his trust in Jesus' blood to save him, and he was now worshiping the Lord in a church each Sunday.
Praise God for the people that listened to the Lord and donated money to buy radios!  Praise God for a station manager that listens to people and wants to help them know the Lord! Praise God for a radio station that declares the Lord's faithfulness.  Praise God for the teams that come to hand out radios in the Mirebalais area!

Evening CBSI class in Mirebalais, Haiti
Tuesday, October 14, 2014, this group met for Community Bible Study in English.  We are studying Phillipians.  We are growing in our faith, and realizing that it is only by faith in the blood of Jesus to wash away our sins that are we able to be saved.  Being born in a Christian family doesn't save us, going to church doesn't save us.  Doing good works doesn't save us.  Following the law to the best of our ability doesn't save us.  Many of these young men went to school until 6:00 pm, and then came to Bible study as soon as school was out.  They are very dedicated young men!

Future Hope

Future Hope is a vision that God gave to Jeremy and Katie Salsbury and Kevin and Tracy Bolin in Haiti. Our hope is that individuals in Haiti will receive training, employment, and JESUS while learning to make a craft that will be sold online. Our prayer is that by doing this they can earn a living wage and better their life while at the same time learning about Jesus and his plan and love for them.

Our first step on the Haiti end is planting coconut trees. These trees will take several years to start producing. Again, God has led the way. A generous family from Kansas donated funds to plant 100 trees in Haiti. Last week the first 20 were planted. Local farmers in Haiti who agree will be able to plant and care for the trees and keep 1/2 of the produce. This will give their families new opportunities, as well as provide resources for Future Hope to use!
